About this event
PALESTINE CONVERSATION SERIES hosted by Vigil for Gaza
Reporting from Gaza to the World
Guest Speaker: Abubaker Abed (Gaza Journalist and Writer)
Abubaker Abed is a Palestinian journalist and writer from Deir al-Balah, Gaza, who became an on-the-ground war correspondent after Israel's assault on Gaza began in October 2023. Originally a football journalist and commentator, he has reported on the devastation, starvation, and daily struggles of Palestinians under siege. After facing threats and severe malnutrition, he was forced to leave Gaza in 2025 and continued his journalism studies in Ireland.
Through his reporting and writing, Abed brings the lived experiences of Palestinians to international audiences.
